Default Phone Dial Pad for the q

The only problem with the phone on the Q is that it doesn't have an on screen dial pad like the palms do. This is important for corporate users like myself and my peers as we do a ton of voicemails and we have to spell names...this is hard when you only can use the numbers on the keypad and they don't have the associated letters with them like a regular phone pad. The function works, but right now I had to print off a .jpeg of a phone pad and tape it to the back of my q so that when I'm typing in peoples names I can reference it. REAL PAIN.

So here's my proposal - whenever you use the phone feature to dial out, a .jpeg appears or at least an option that will let you pull up a .jpeg of a dial pad. IT doesn't have to function, yet just to reference so when we have to type in names it's right on the screen.

Anybody know how to do this OR know of something that is currently available. I will pay$$

Check out this thread at qusers:
Qusers.com - Topic :: Verizon graphics in ROM? Dialing letters 800-verizon

They discuss how to replace the Verizon banners in the dialing and call in progress screens with a horizontal keypad (standard number to letter associations).

You will need to read through the whole progression to find the graphics files and technique that works best for you.

Looks like the Qusers site is down. Is there somewhere else to get this graphic?

THANKS!

Default Reference for Apps List

Hi hockey guy,

I have a Motorola Q9h through AT&T. I need the dial pad app that you refer to but I might need some of your other apps. How can I find out what all of your other apps do? I especially need to get Google Maps to work and have downloaded all kinds of other cabs that have not changed a thing.

I am a newbie so I might need a bit of direction if it is more than just download and reboot.

Thanks,
Danielle

Actually, the download was unsuccessful so I don't know how to get these things to work for me.

read up in the official software thread in the software forum all (well most) softwares are listed there

on your phone go to www.google.com/gmm and that will take you to download google maps

on my apps page www.scottschrob.com/q/apps.htm download dialpad.cab and install it on the Q then reboot and that dial pad will appear on the device when calling and in a call
