    Motorola Q Form Factor in Designer

    Here's a quick step-by-step process to get the Motorola Q Form Factor in the Visual Studio Designer... I wrote this for another forum...

    Make sure to have Visual Studio installed, Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone SDK, the Landscape emulator, and the Motorola Q Plugin.

    First.. open up Visual Studio 2005.

    Go to Tools -> Options...

    You'll have a dialog that comes up...

    Select the Device Tools -> Form Factors

    Select Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone in the combo box

    Click on Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone QVGA

    Click Save As.

    Save it as Motorola Q

    Highlight Motorola Q ... hit Properties

    The skin xml file should be here:

    C:\Program Files\Windows CE Tools\wce500\Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone SDK\Deviceemulation\Motorola Q\Motorola_Q.xml

    Uncheck enable rotation support

    Horizontal and Vertical resolution should be at 131 (default)

    Uncheck Show Skin....

    Set
    Screen Width -> 320
    Screen Height -> 240
    Color Depth -> 16

    Check Show Skin.

    Now when you bring up a form in the designer of Visual Studio, you can select Motorola Q!

    Upgraded to Visual Studio 2008 recently and needed to re-create this Form Factor.

    One thing I wanted to add is you may need to check "Show All Options" after going to Tools -> Options in order to see the "Form Factor" section.
