Battery Life:
Close Programs: Install Waku WkTask, Touch Taskmanager or something similar that makes the x-button close apps, not minimize them...
Auto Brightness Off: [Settings > System > Backlight] Set to manual and keep it as low as possible..(On my omnia, the auto-setting doesen't adjust the brightness at all..
Don't use Enhanced Gps' Auto Download: [Settings > System > Enhanced GPS > Auto Download disable ] This saves your phone from regularly downloading satellite position info, and also saves you some gprs traffic costs.
Disable HSDPA [Settings > Connections > HSDPA > Disable ] This disables the HSDPA/3G+ connection, but edge/3G is still activated. This also gives better battery but slower download speeds when using gprs internet.
And of course... Disconnect all connections when you don't need them. Under [Settings > Personal > Buttons > End Key tab > Disconnect data calls] you can bind the red end-key to disconnect your data calls.
Performance:
MemMaid: Handy little program that cleans up in the registry, lets you manage startup items, compacts ram and other tweaks. This comes in handy both performance-wise and storage-wise.
XCPUscalar : This app can overclock / set your cpu-speed and disable auto powersaving of the cpu. This can make the phone a lot snappier, but also drain the battery faster.
If battery is no.1 priority, you can use this to underclock your cpu and make the phone slow, but conserve battery...
Louder music in headset:
Type this code in the phonepad:
*#0002*28346#
Select [ Menu > Normal > Headset ] Here you find the setting HP(04).
This decides the volume in connected headsets, and default is -12db.
If you want louder music when listening in headset, set this to a higher value where 0 is loudest...
(this may damage your phone or headset if you don't know or understand what your'e doing.)
Press [ Menu > Apply ] to save settings. If you press OK in upper corner or back it won't be saved...
not actually tweaks, but something i do everytime i update the rom
5. NoData - GPRS disabler, for those auto-connect apps, good apps if you are roaming or data charges isnt unlimited http://new-free-utility-t246171.html/
Now here are some tweaks
6. welcomehead.96.png in windows directory, its the splash screen when starting up omnia, you can change this or overwrite it with image of your own. use Total Commander or Resco File Explorer to overwrite the file. http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-o...splash-screen/

8. Prevent Shozu from running

For those who's not using shozu, omnia autorun's a shozu component consuming about 400kb of memory. To disable this component, use a registry editor and go to this path: HKLM\init Look for the name: Launcher140 with the data: \Windows\shozurcp.exe and delete the name/data pair. The "Launcher140" might be different depending on your rom version but the data should be the same. Remember to jot this name/data down somewhere in case you need it again and soft reset your phone
10. Camera Silencer - silence the camera without needing to put it in vibra mode, after installing in camera option choose Camera Tone 3. http://www.sendspace.com/file/uhn5s4
some hidden features
11. *#0*# - diagnostic screen

These are from the Blackjack 2 and not from me (source www.i607.org/wiki/doku.php?id=admin_codes ), but it seems a good lot of them work with the Omnia.
To goto the admin setting:
*#1546792*#
Password on admin setting:
*#81230*# (if required)
Select GSM Network band:
type in *#9999*0#
Hit (1) to get to the debug screen
Hit left soft ket for “more”
Hit ( for phone control
Hit (7) for GCF Test Mode
Hit (2) Band Preference
Hit (3) GSM Band Preference
Select number based on your preference and wait several seconds to check the signal. If the signal is too weak, select another band..
Change Scrollbar Sizes
I change from 15 to 17 for thicker scrollbar. 15 is about 2mm, 17 is about 3mm.
1) Go to HKey_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\
2) Adjust following values
cyHScr: Horizontal Scrollbars Height in pixels (my default is 15)
cxVScr: Vertical Scrollbars Width in pixels (my default is 15)
3) Switch off phone for 20 seconds
4) Switch on phone
Change volume setting, dial *#0002*28346#

shozu autorun consume about 400kb of memory. To disable it
HKLM\init\Launcher140 delete
value name:"Launch140" value data:"\Windows\shozuRcp.exe"
Streaming Player shuts down when 20% of battery left, to disable:
HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\StreamingPlayer\Settings\Bat teryBoundary
Change Value Data 25 to 0
To mute Camera & Video shutter :
I use Win XP Sound Recorder to record 8 empty wav files,
right click properties, check the 2 boxes : Read-only & Hidden
Activesync to Omnia, Mobile Device/Windows & replace the 8 files
AutoFocus 11kb (0.5 second)
AutoFocusFail 11kb
Shutter01 11kb
Shutter02 11kb
Shutter03 11kb
ShutterSound 22kb (0.25 second)
StartRecording 22kb
StopRecording 22kb
Switch off Omnia
Switch on Omnia after 20 seconds
Change location of Temporary Internet Files to Storage Card:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Exp lorer\Shell Folders\Cache
"\Windows\Profiles\guest\Temporary Internet Files" change to "\Storage Card\cacheie"
*****Copy the 2 original files from Omnia onto your PC as backup in case you want to revert back. Copy the 2 files attached back into windows. Message will prompt "to replace" click yes. Soft reset.
2 hidden programs in windows folder;
taskswitcher.exe a small task manager that sits on the bottom of the screen, you can end all taks switch task or close task(you then double tap the app to close). A less technical taskmanager.
google.exe This brings up a google page with a google search bar a mail button and google maps button (which works great especially over wifi with full google earth sat imagery if turned on.) it will also show location if you enable GPS.
Hidden feature, press and hold up volume key starts teh screen viewer, you can then move around the zoomed screen like the browser. Double tap to restoer to main view.
Tweak, create a folder called My Ringtones in My storage and they will appear in the sounds and notifications settings. No need to copy to storage. Doesnt work with with SMS/MMS which still need to be in windows folder.
Enjoy
For clock and date on the taskbar settings:
To show nothing:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 0 (DWORD decimal)
To show just the clock:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 1 (DWORD decimal)
To show just the date:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 2 (DWORD decimal)
To show both the date and the clock:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 3 (DWORD decimal)
*******TBOpt key will have to be added if not already there
To display AM and PM with the time in the taskbar:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls\overrides
Add a few new registry values:
1. Create a new String value with name = S1159 & data = Am
2. Create a new String value with name = S2359 & data = Pm
3. Create a new String value with name = STFmt & data = h:mm tM
4. Create a new String value with name = SSDte & data = ddd MMM d yy (just an example, choose your format here) http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...ateformats.asp
(on the last one you may need to add spaces to the end so it doesn't get overlapped with the OK/Close button)
sorry, but some of these are wrong. ive done many hacks and spent many hours in my omnia reg. some of those are for the overseas Omnia i900.
ie:... their is no enhanced gps in settings menu. that feature is under settings/phone/gps, change settings.
the sound volume hack is in windows folder/soundtester.exe... here you can change the headset and speaker volume.
their is no HSDPA in the connections settings.
the end key, unless you hack, can only be set to use as a screen lock button by holding it down.
i can not get any dial pad codes to work. they all make a phone call. all those dial pad codes point to programs you can access in the windows folder.
true that their are a few hidden programs in that folder. app to date is in my documents/app data.
their are a ton of diffes between the i900 and i910. we (on vzw) have the i910. and vzw is best known for locking down things. you can set gps to location on but it will not do anything yet. vzw will unlock gps to be stand alone gps on the saga, omnia, and touch pro in the first half of 2009.
1. I find the auto rotation annoying especially since I use the hack to disable the windows 95 looking samsung dialer. Just go to settings/personal/buttons/ choose a button and set it to "rotate screen". Then go to screen rotation and change it from auto to manual.
2. Hack to change samsung dialer.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Phone\Skin]
"Enabled"=dword:1, you should change to 0 and reboot your Omnia
The only time I want my screen rotated is occasionally looking at a webpage or google maps.
3. I assigned a the main menu single press to toggle from d-pad functionality to optical mouse. Here is how
If you do install .net 3.5 then I recommend doing this hack.
Until now you could get NET CF3.5 as default only if you cooked it into a ROM. But I've found the registry setting that can disable the default net CF 2.0 and enable net CF 3.5 as default. There is a noticable increase in speed and it shows on the benchmarks as well. I used to get 1320 on mine now I'm getting 1499 with VBenchmark.
What you need to do:
1. Install NetCF3.5 on your ppc.
2. Open a registry editor, I use Reso Regsitry Editor
3. Goto HKLM\Software\Microsoft\.NETCompactFramework (this is usually the first entry
4. When you open this you'll see all the .NET installed version change the DWORD value of 2.0.7045.00 from 1 to 0
5. Chang ethe DWORD value of 3.5.7283.00 from 0 to 1.
6. Reboot
7.Viola! you have a faster PPC
