if your using a custom rom or have run the new omnia update from samsung, you now have open gps. you should be using quickgps if you use your gps. it downloads gps sat info so you can get a faster lock on location.

Would you have a link for the quickgps application? Thanks!

(I did google it - no luck for omnia in the first couple of pages)

Palringo is an IM app that allows you to connect with several different clients at once. It supports text, picture & voice messaging plus additional features. I personally use this over the Yahoo mobile IM app. Hope you enjoy it!

coupla quick questions

using spb mobile shell can you use any of the other themes/tricks that have been made for it?

is pointui stable on the omnia?

are the throttle launcher setups formatted for the screen?

how does wisbar adavnce desktop work on the omnia?

You can use SOME of the themes with some of the tricks - not all are compatible with each other. I'm using Mskips' ultimate collection and love it.

PointUI worked okay for me - just wasn't what I was after.

Never tried throttle launcher or wisbar (but I did run across an LCARS theme that used wisbar and looked really cool -almost tried it).

are you and your mate/friend happy with the internet browsing on the omnia?
is there any way to take the stylus off the phone so it isnt just dangling?

after getting used to it which one is better:
hardware keyboard or touch interface?

Internet browsing is okay - I've had some trouble with Opera loading blank screens lately, though. Haven't researched that yet.

I don't keep my stylus with my phone; never use it. (Isn't it just tied to the little ring?) I've seen posts where some people keep it on their keychain for when they need it.

Still getting used to the touch keyboard. I'm getting better....
