For Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard ONLY **Updated to address Home Screen customization**
I got the Jack last Thursday (7/27) and found NRG MiniWeather the other day. After a little headache or two (maybe three) and some help over at XDA-Dev in getting it setup, it's running perfectly. So I thought I might share it here.
First: App unlock your phone using ClearSecurity and then uninstall the app as it drains the battery very fast. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7K4XTY68
Fourth: Using PHM Registry Editor browse to the following location
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome
Press the values key so that CPRFile is viewable, change this from SlidingPanels to CHome. If you do not change this, your homescreen will not display properly and you may see a red "X" in one or more panels.
Exit registry editor and go back to your homescreen. You should see the text has changed and you now have some type of weather icon next to your clock. Scroll down and you will see two Weather panels. Center on the second one and use the softey to enter the Options screen where you can change the Zip Code and other options.
Using this NRG MiniWeather resets the theme and includes the Media and Pictures panels. The are 2 ways to disable the Media and Picture panels. The first is using CHome Configurator and the second is adding a registry key named "Disabled" and setting it to "1". The registry key should be added to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome.
I discovered the other day that the "Extended Forecast Panel" is actually the WelcomeCenter panel. The install of NRG Weather will take over that panel. I didn't notice this until I was hunting around the registry keys for the home panel and recognized the data in Welcome Center as the forecasts for NRG.
Screenshots of the application working properly can be found at the XDA link above.
Mini Weather + WM 6.5. Two great tastes that don't go well together?
The hack worked beautifully... on WM6.1. Thank you! Until............ I installed WM6.5. Now it's all screwed up
The collapsed titles on the slides seem to "stack" on each other now. I've been thru every option that I know of on CHome Config but I'm a "newbee" on all of this. Any idea on how to fix?
What was the value of the registry entry before your changed it to CHome? Was it something like Titanium?
I'll have to check over at XDA, but I thought there was some modifications necessary or another variant of the app that was needed because of the changes in the system from 6.1 to 6.5.
I'm on my way out the door at the moment, I'll try to find the info for it tonight or tomorrow.
There is a TitaniumWeather app for WM 6.5, the post above goes to the Excalibur version (T-Mobile Dash). I haven't flashed my phone yet, so I can't test it. If anyone is able to test it out please let us know.
well, i tried the download as you suggested, downloaded mortscript as well as cab,,,installed both...no results,,it allows me to utilize the setup, once complete with setup...nothing happens...no connect...nothing...any ideas
Unfortunately I don't, if I was able to flash my phone I'd be able to mess around with the software. But right now I'm just researching on XDA to see how others are resolving their problem.
What's odd is that there are some people who flashed their phone and NRG MiniWeather works fine on their device.
CHome was the name of the "stock" home screen on 6.1, maybe instead of CHome it should be set to Titanium in the registry?
ill give it a shot, worst case i may have to hard reset
just tried titanium..nothing....i installed the mort script cab...i installed this before the titanium cab....strange , titanium cab does not seem to be in concert with mortscript....i think the problem is somewhere in there
