    Last Days on Earth

ok i had to vent about this, and didnt want to register on ABC's website.

They say that the number one cause of the end of human civilization is "global warming". There is not a "global warming" caused by people. The poles are reversing. This is the cause, not humans. George Carlin (rip) said it best, are we so self absorbed that we think 200 years of industry can change the earth. Actually, we are about 500,000 years overdue for an ice age. The earth has seen a lot worse than us. We are not directly affecting the earths temperature. We might have a small impact on some aspects of the earth, every creature does. But we are not killing the earth. We can only kill ourselves (and indirectly other animals by habitat destruction).

Also in the show they interviewed normal people on whether or not humans would die out. Some people said that humans will never go away, we are here to stay. Are humans becoming dumber? Where are the dinosaurs? we honestly think that we are here to stay? WAKE UP PEOPLE!

end rant...thank you, just had to get it off my chest
If you are normal, the crowd will accept you. If you are dysfunctional, they will make you their leader.

When you think you have had a bad day, just remember, somewhere in the world is the worlds' worst doctor, and somebody has an appointment with them tomorrow.

According to my Environmental Science, Geology, and Atmospheric Science Professors in 2006, it is true that we are overdue for an ice age, however, that isn't the complete story. It takes a very long and slow trend of warming to create the factors that will eventually take the planet into another ice age. Our actions are exponentially speeding up that process. Absolutely correct that by doing so, the earth will most definately survive, but we will not. We are only killing off ourselves. By reversing man-made climate change, we can effectively give humanity a few more thousand (or hundreds of thousands) of years before the earth changes its own climate. It is stupid to be carefree about causing climate change with the excuse that the earth will eventually kill us off anyway. Shouldn't we try to prolong humanity's existence on earth instead of cut it short by speeding things up?

I hope that in a few thousand years we will have moved beyond this mud ball we call Earth. That is if fast food hasn't made us to fat to move by then
