    System Restore, or Software Restore

    I think files were deleted from my Windowns folder on my phone (thanks cousin Kevin) and now my phone is not working correctly. I need to know if there is a way to just re-download the 130 files that were in the system files off the internet off my computer becasue i can not access anything from the start button (guessing since files are missing). Can anyone help me?

    master reset
    turn off phone then turn back on and hold the center silver button
    note: you will loose all data on phone...so back up!

    do you have Outlook on the pc ? Active Sync can sync the contacts to it.. if not copy the pim.vol from the root to a save place (pc, storage card) & copy it back after the Master Reset, it contains the contacts and calender entries. copy and save all other stuff you put on it..

    "thanks cousin Kevin" ?, you didn't smack him on the head ? :}
    much later.. maybe.

    copy it to another folder on the Q then to the PC
    then after the reset copy it back to any folder then back to the root directory and reboot the Q
    you should be good to go

    if it doesnt work DO NOT DELETE THE PIM.VOL FILE FROM THE PC UNTIL IT WORKS!

    Copy pim.vol from the root directory of your phone to your storage card or to your pc (or both). Restore your system. Copy pim.vol from the back-up back to the root directory of your phone. Reboot the phone and all of your contacts and calendar entries should be there.

    Note, you cannot copy pim.vol with programs like Resco Explorer. You need to use the native file manager program that came in your phone.
