BUT the point is that they lied to my face. they said whatever they needed to sell me this phone. ilove this phone, im glad i bought it, because i love tweaking and messing with my phones. oh well, ur probably right
I've heard of some backdoors to send MMS with non-supported providers. Ask around - good luck!

Unfortunately for you, I don't know any specifics about it. I believe I first read about MMS backdoors on www.sprintusers.com. Since I've been a computer guru for the passed 21 years, with a bit of previous PDA experience, I tend to do things the old-fashioned way, with a ton for shortcuts and VERY FEW hacks. However, if I come across anything else, I'll be sure to let you know.
'Til then, best of luck to ya!

ok so after some digging I found a program called ArcSoft MMS Composer. It runs on WM5. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any way of downloading it! I've looked EVERYWHERE, and trust me, I know where to look. I would just like to at least see if it works!
I'm a little worried it may not because of the different hardware its been used on (most of the smart phones its being used on come from Europe and Asia). for example, this thread http://www.mobilegadgetnews.com/inde...pic=11062&st=0
talks about using the program on an MPX200 upgraded to WM5.
Read the thread and let me know what you guys think. It seems to me the only thing i would worry about is hardware differences

As for just using their 10-digit phone number + @message.alltel.com , It doesn't even work when sending from one Alltel customer to another! Even the top of tech support ladder at Alltel will strait up tell you, "you cannot send or receive MMS's on your phone. Its not supported"
If you try to do the
number@message.alltel.com , it only sends the filename of the picture you were trying to send, with no actual file attached.
Why on Motorola's website do they list the phone as being MMS capable? THATS what I don't understand, Along with how our providers can be so stupid to leave it out of their provider specific software implementations !
its probably a different address for mms. with sprint its @pm.sprint.com, with vzw its @vzwpix.com. im not sure what alltel is though, sorry

nope thats the only one Alltel uses, I think this is why you cant just email the picture to the number@message.alltel.com .
I'd still like to know if anyone has been able to implement this ArcSoft MMS Composer or has used it on another device. Getting it to install and run properly is one thing, setting it up to use a different server is another

have the person send a pic mail to your email from their phone and you get their phone email.

for Alltel I'm 100% sure the only email address they use for their phones ends in @message.alltel.com

Wow.. I just realized this as well.. What a pain.
You figure that with the money you spend on the Q it should at least be able to do what phones less than half it's price can do. Such as... oh, I don't know.. Send pictures in texts? =\
