Default New Q on Cricket.. 21k Internet Speed...:-(

Hello I am a newb to the everythingQ forum. I just received my fully flashed black Moto q a week ago... These things are sweet too bad i didnt know how cool the q's were when i had verizon. Anyway, I did a bandwidth test on the phone using cnet and it is saying my download speed is 21k...slowwwwer that dial-up... i was excited about streaming video and such but now i realize its impossible... is that really how slow the cricket network is?? Or are there some settings that can be adjusted to speed things up. Please Help. Thanks!

cricket uses a proxy connection for data, so your connection speed is dependant on the speed of the proxy.

not sure, I don't know the particulars of cricket's data setup. but I don't think it was designed with smartphones in mind

I haven't tried it yet myself as my Q is still in the mail, but this is what I've found on activating the cricket evdo on your moto Q.

"Howto: HDR Data Settings via Hex Edit on Motorola Q (Verizon ROM)"
