Exchanging my Q for a Mogul was by far the best choice I could have make as a power user.
The Q is a great phone, but it's still primarily a cell phone. I'm the type of guy who wants to improve and customize his device, and I could only do so much with the Q.
By far the BIGGEST benefit is the promise of getting VoIP to work on the Mogul. There are numerous VoIP options for Windows Mobile 6 and with the SERO unlimited data feature this has got to be the coolest functionality to get working...unlimited calling.
...but what good is unlimited calling over VoIP if you don't have the bandwidth? It seems my Mogul gets up to three times the bandwidth that my Q did (judging by how well it streams video through Orb). That's not including the fact that there should be a software update to EVDO Rev. A making it blazingly fast.
Speaking of unlimited fast data connections, I figured it would be nice to be able to VNC into a server at my office or my home PC if I needed to, however since the Q doesn't have a touch screen it would be very difficult to control. With the Mogul's huge touch screen this is not a problem.
Really, the bottom line is that the Mogul fits a power user much better than the Q. If all you want to do is check your email and place calls, then the Q is a wonderful phone. If you find yourself butting up against the Q's limitations then you might want to think about moving up.
