    Wifi

How are others fairing with WIFI? Here's what I've seen (only a couple of days in):

    1. WEP access at work - seems to work very, very well. Rock solid.

    2. WPA / WPA2 at home - flaky. Sometimes connects, sometimes does not.

I've tried pretty much all the combinations to access my wifi network at home, with mixed success. To complicate the matters, my d-link home wireless router is a little general about which wireless protocols it using.

I don't rely on WIFI because I'm in San Francisco and EVDO coverage is great. However, in general would like to make sure this function works well.

Has anyone else had similar success / failure?

Lastly, I've found a couple of 3rd party WIFI Windows Mobile mgr packages (like www.wefi.com). Has anyone tried these? Do they help connect to wifi spots?

    Thanks in advance.

I've had not troubles with Wifi using WPA or WPA-2 at home or at my buddies. Great signal and no probs dropping or grabbing the signal. However at the office where WEP is set is a whole differnt story and I haven't had time to mess with it really. However at work it is some lcheapo router the wireless company installed. So who know that could be half the problem in itself.

    Follow up-

Overall, the WIFI seems to be working. However, I definitely have strange disconnects at home with WPA/WPA2. Sometimes it connects, sometimes not. Generally speaking, left on for long enough it connects. At work, it connects to our WEP network very reliably.

Since it doesn't seem that there's lots of info on this, I'm just going to leave it alone & hope that it works.

Lastly, I find the WIFI settings interface on the Q9n fairly confusing compared to say, an iPhone. But that's life; still loving this phone, and mostly connected to WIFI despite this...

Yea I agree on the Wifi settings section. They for sure could have done a better job with it but being VZW normally does not have Wifi active on released phones I'm sure they did not put much effort into it is my guess.

We have three Naps in regular daily use. It seems that the best way to attach easily to WPA APs is to check the box that says the network is invisible. Now this is not true because the SSID is broadcasting, but bingo! you can connect instantanteously everywhere.
