So bear with me, Mr. Russel while I try to ... fully comprehend... some of your logic here.

If Verizon is only releasing this to "Government workers" why have 2 verizon reps from 2 different VZW stores told me, and I quote "Don't buy the Q9C, a new Q is coming"

and no, that's not GPS in Google Maps... the "Use GPS" is unticked. It proves nothing, except that the phone can load pre-cached Google Maps.

Those shots are great, but it still doesn't fix the lack of a "pop" factor for WM.

One of the images shows a blue dot with a shaded perimeter. Have you used google maps 2.3 with gps data flowing??

My question was to the person who took the screen shots. He wouldn't have to speculate.

Indeed it is actual GPS. The program initially loads with a view of San Francisco, then it changes to your location. Checking the GPS option makes the phone says "17KB. Seeking GPS satellites..." Sometimes it says "Unable to find location", and it is slow. Personally, I think VZ Navigator is the best by far. This GPS won't keep up with my car, at least where I am testing it.

My screen shot was not scrolled to, and I was surprised to see it. Zooming in and out in Satellite view on EvDo rev A is blazing fast though.

I don't really know, but would be willing to try. Mostly what I know is about BREW handsets and 4,380 posts over at HoFo. As you can see I am a newbee here.
