Stalls when switching profiles/opening file manager
hi all. i am new to the forum. i have a specific problem with my q9m (verizon) and although i have searched here and the rest of the internet, i have yet to find someone with my same problem. please link if you know of another thread.
when i switch profiles or open the file manager, it stalls and sometimes forgets completely what it was doing. a stall would last maybe 10 seconds (as opposed to the almost instantaneous opening before). sometimes it will forget what it's doing. it's not freezing and i don't have to restart to get it to come back, i just wait it out. this started 3 days ago and i've had the phone almost a year.
what i've done to try to fix it: restarted, shut down & taken battery out, removed all photos/videos/programs/etc.
the only extra stuff i've installed on it is google maps and expense (money tracking software). i've never edited any registry keys.
this is driving me nuts. HELP!

Doyou have predictive text input on? Go to Start-->Settings-->More-->More-->Text Input Settings and clear the database. You might also want to consider turning it off if you don't really need it.

yes, i turned predictive text off right after i got the phone. it's not slow when i type. only stalls out when switching profiles or opening the file manager.

The predictive text input issue has also been known to cause lagging in areas other than typing.
If that's not it, maybe another member will have an answer for you.

You should look into Sprite Backup.

my problem has been solved, but the phone wasn't fixed.
i went into verizon yesterday, told them what was going on, they replaced it with a q9c. i didn't realize exactly how slow the m was, but it's obvious after using the c now. i also found out that the bluetooth on my m didn't work either (b/c that's how they were going to transfer the contacts), so i had to sit down and write them all out.
but at least i have a working phone now!
