Moving Mail msg to Storage card

I need some assistance in moving the msg stored from device memory to storage card, I have searched the entire Microsoft website and have not been able to locate and documentation. Does anyone have any idea what files would need to be edited to redirect the IMAP MAIL..

    thanks

Search the Hacks forum. There's a hack to have your mail saved to your storage card.

    Move Mail to Storage Card

Follow these instructions, it worked beautifully for me!

    01
Using the file manager in activesync, create the following folders on your Storage Card.
    \MAPI
    \MAPI\ATTACHMENTS
You can actually name them whatever you want, "Inbox" or "Email" for example.
    02
Now browse to \Windows\Messaging (SmartPhone) or \Windows\MAPI (PocketPC)
If you want to save all of your existing mail, move everything in this directory to the new ones on your Storage Card.
    03
Now fire up your registry editor and navigate to the following.
    For WM5 Phones: [ HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MAPI ]
    For WM6 Phones: [ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Inbox\Settings ]
Then create the following STRING VALUES.
    Name: AttachPath
String: \Storage Card\MAPI\Attachments (this should match whatever you named YOUR folder)

    Name: PropertyPath
String: \Storage Card\MAPI(this should match whatever you named YOUR folder)
    04
Reboot your phone and then goto your inbox. If you can see all of your mail then mission accomplished. Double check your attachments as well.

(I found it posted online somewhere else but I couldn't find the original link so I just copied it from my notes.)

fyi, here's the original thread (I was looking for it too) as far as I can tell and where a lot of helpful comments can be found:

Thanks for the post, it worked great with my POP emails, however it did not work with my Hotmail and now I cannot seem to get my hotmail to sync with the server. Any thoughts on how to fix this for hotmail?

    Thanks
