Wifi on Q9H?
Hello there!
I realise there's already a thread about using the MicroSD WiFi card on the "9Q GSM", & the 9QM - Gosh, couldn't they give each product a different name?
OK, well - I can't seem to find a straight answer with the words 9-Q-H
So, I thought I would just ask!
Also, I'm reading about euro versions not being compatible with 3g or something? I have the Australian Moto q9h, and - it does have a little 3G icon in the corner, sorry - bit of a noob here!
Thanks in advance, am loving my Q btw

Does no one know?

Here is what I can say I have found and read on the various Motorola websites.
First the EU, AU and Canadian versions of the Q9h use a 2100mhz radio the US version uses the 850/1900mhz 3G radio. So yes you have 3G and you can use that 3G in the EU, Canada and of course Australia but when in the USA you will only get Edge speeds.
Next the the Q9m is known to be nothing more than the original Q with the same basic internals it had but with a modified Q9h body. The Q9m supports miniSD WiFi card. I searched the Moto FAQ on the Q9m and that confirms it.
Finally I checked both the AU and CN support pages.
Moto Canada Q9h
Moto Australia Q9h
Neither of the Moto support pages when searching the FAQ section shows any listing for WiFi support via MicroSD card or anything else. What you can do is try the Spectec SDW-823 microSD WiFi Card: 802.11b/g Mfg. Part #: SDW-823.
I hope that helps.

very interesting, so the capability is in our current ATT Q9H's? The hack should be available to us all soon, if this is true

If Horizon can unlock wifi, I assume we can figure out a way to unlock it also? I'll pay someone 10 bucks paypal if they figure out how to unlock wifi. I have a Rogers Motorola Q9H. I won it free from Motorola
Update: I just found a WiFi section in the registry.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER> ControlPanel>WiFi. Hopefully this will help some.

I can not see this it can not be legit.
The Q9h has no WiFi, I know there are rumors of a WiFi model but it has not been released and it will not coast $55.
By the way as I said before the Q9h sold by Rogers has the same bands that the AT&T Q9 Global had.

i wonder if the people that have changed the casing saw anything that would resemble a wifi module?

I know there are some wifi settings I have run across in the registry, however nothing seems to indicate that it has a built-in wifi chip. I'll chip in $10 as well if someone wants to test out Horizon's solution and then, if it does work, tell the rest of us how to do it.
