However ... some MORE FUEL to the fire. I'm determined!
THIS is what I found today ...
If ANYONE has a WiFi enabled WM6 Professional HTC device ... can you PLEASE post your default Registry settings in the following:
(BTW, I'm using PHM Editor )
HKEY_Classes_ROOT > WiFi > CLSID (values): Default: Valuedata: {EDF83936-F42FA-43e2-A278-DB67EF7E90B8 (value type REG_SZ)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER > ControlPanel > WiFi >
EapolParam1 >
EapFlags (value)> Value data: 0 (value type: REG_DWORD)
EapType (value)> Value data: 25 (value type: REG_DWORD)
EapolParam2
EapFlags (value)> Value data: 0 (value type: REG_DWORD)
EapType (value)> Value data: 13 (value type: REG_DWORD)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > ControlPanel > WiFi
Timeout (value) > Value data: 0 (value type: REG_DWORD)
NOTE; Under the following I ALSO have these listings:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Comm >
WiFi > Comm > ScanInterval (value)> Value data: 60 (decimal) (type:
REG_DWORD)
also (amongst: AutoCFG, AutoInterval, DefaultGateway, EnableDHCP, Subnetmask, and UseZeroBroadcast, I have the following)
(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Comm >)
RNDISFN1 > Parms > TcpIP > IpAddress > Value Name: IpAddress > Value
data: 169.254.2.46 (value type: REG_SZ)
PS:
@Technician ... as far as I'm aware WM smartphones don't use SEEMS to be edited only the Razr, RIZR, Vseries etc use those. However I do know that teh ROKR E2 uses a SEEM that can be edited (and its a smartphone but its Linux/Java = JUIX not the new Android).
@ Rood89 .... check in Felix at work if you have access to it (although it MAY be limited) see for the oldest documentation, even old flyers and materials before launch The Q9 (before it was the Q9h) DID officially mention WiFi support imbedded BUT that was QUICKLY removed!
Now ANY proficient hackers wanna try out my methods above?
Sure everyone around KEEPS saying those registry's are just default WM6 listings ... but I beg to differ. Motorola is the provider lovechild, because they'll customize WHATEVER ANY provider wants. Just look at all the varying Q9's out now. The application sweet (besides Opera & Docs2Go) is arcane at best. I don't even have the standard MSN Messenger on this AT&T Q9h Global (although I'm using it on Rogers Wireless).
So any brave Men or Women wanna take a chance at this?
I really want these rumors to be true, on one of the other threads, they mentioned an FCC # : IHDT56HW1. Now, my Motorola Q9h has he exact same FCC ID. I bought mine of Ebay from Hong Kong, and it is an AT&T branded phone, with Bands 850, 900, 1800, 1900, 2100. Isn't that all the mobile bands?
It's on auto select, but as far as I can tell, they all work. I'm in australia and using Telstra, so I use the 2100 mhz mainly. I was really hoping that these rumors were true because, I did some digging myself, and found this.

I am pretty sure that that is the exact chip that the Motorola Q9h has. I'm not game to open my Q up but hey, if someone else is willing.
I'm using Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard and I too also found five references to wi-fi in my registry.
Windows\connmgr_wifi.cpl.xml 476b
Windows\connmgr_wifi_8021x.cpl.xml 386b
Windows\connmgr_wifi_security.cpl.xml 436b
Windows\connmgr_wifi_settings.cpl.xml 245b
Windows\connmgr_wifi_wizard.cpl.xml 1.8k (1918b)
I don't know much about this stuff, so if anyone knows anything?
These are all automatically opened with Opera but they are just blank documents.
