No, I'm not comfortable editing the registry just yet. I'm just approaching my second week of ownership of the Moto and this is my first smartphone so I'm pretty much a novice...but I am, thanks to input from people like you, learning. Thanks so much.

Thanks
If you put it in the ringtones folder it should be available.
Try start > System Tools > Settings > Sounds
Then set the ringtone using the arrows under sounds

If it's a size issue, it doesn't matter where you put it (trust me). You're going to have to do a registry hack.
This was this first thing that got me hooked on hacking my q... so welcome to a whole new world of possibilities that you didn't expect when you first bought your device

Now I am curious...what other things have you done that you would not have been able do without hacking your q. Also, is there a specific website/program you would recommend for hacking info?

Theres actually quite a bit. You can turn on a little icon for GPS to tell you whether its active or not, you can speed up your internet and other processes with registry hacks, you can adjust the volume of the phone (however its loud enough), you can turn off the shutter sound your camera maes, you can adjust how long it takes for your data connection to time out (important if you use Youtube), and a host of other things. There's actually a thread dedicated to hacks. Its for the Q9c, but virtually all of them work for the Q9h, at least the ones I've used.
Do a search for it, and you should find it. Once you read them, you might be more inclined to play around with the registry.

I personally use PHM Registry Editor for my regediting. To be fair though, I've never used any others, so I wouldn't know how it compares. I've never had a complaint though.
There are a couple good sites for tips and tricks...
The everythingq hack thread of course: http://www.everythingq.com/forum/mot...acks-1037.html
tips, no hacks: http://cellphoneforums.net/motorola/...ps-tricks.html
There are tons of threads out there. Basically, think of something you want to do and google it. You'll find lots of resources. There are even a few that potentially enhance the speed of your Q. Be very careful with those though, because those have the highest likelyhood of bricking your Q. Also make sure that you use hacks that work for the Q9h. There are some out there that are different per phone model and/or don't work at all for one or the other.

I read a bit about it last night. You're right...does kind of look like fun. I'm sure I'll give it a try, but not quite yet. Think I'll make sure I'm familiar with the "out of the box" Q first. Sure is fun reading all the different input. Thanks for your help.

I'm not quite ready to start hacking my Q just yet, but it does sound interesting, to say the least. I wanted to thank you for your help/input.....sure makes this "thing" seem a bit less intimidating to a new user like myself!
