storage card woes..
the phone dont seem to be able to read my storage card...
when i click on Storage Card, it tells me No Storage Card Found...
when i wouuld like to install a programme, only Main Memory is shown, no storage card option.. BUT, it shows up when i explore it in My Device, and through Activesync as well... IE cache and Mail attachments works fine too...
any idea what could be causeing this? dont have a card reader at home so unable to format with lappy.

the FAT (file allocation table) probably got corrupted on the card. format the card in the phone and it should work fine.
start/system tools/format storage card

may give it a whirl in a digi cam. If you don't have one handy...Wal-Mart/best buy and such have them on display everyday

Did you do the email and pie temp files to sd hack? That causes problems on 6.1. The way I got the phone to recognize the card is to pull the card out and reinsert it while the phone is on. You will most likely find a folder called Storage Card 2 in explorer after you do this. You will not be able to delete the other Storage Card folder until you undo the email and pie hack.

this seem to work, for now... went out to get a new 4g card and removed the ie cache and mail attachments hacks... managed to get the phone to read the card as storage card as compared to storage card 2. renamed the old storage card folder, that the system created on the device to put the cache and mail folder, to prevent a clash of names.. but still unable to delete the folder, error message was permisson error or something along that line...
many thanks for the heads up on the hac
k problem......

Actually I meant to say the only way I got the card to be recognized was to remove and reinsert card while phone was on. But, you seem to have a handle on things now. I think the reason why you can't delete the old folder is because you still have emails and pie files associated to them. Did you reboot your phone? Did you change the registry back to default? If it still doesn't work you may need to delete your email account and set it up again, so it associates itself back to default, which is the phone's memory.

yeap i changed the hacks to store cache and mail files to \Temp cause i dont know whats the default path.. seven got uninstalled so all my email accounts are gone, together with the attachments............. btw, do you store your cache and mail attachments to your device? any trouble with space constrains and performance issues?

Original registry for pie
Cache: \Windows\Profiles\guest\Temporary Internet Files
Cookies: \Windows\Profiles\guest\Cookies
History: \Windows\Profiles\guest\History
For email, just delete AttachPath and PropertyPath.
As far as device memory space, I usually install apps to my storage card when possible. Some apps require you to install to device though. It takes a while for me to use up device memory. Just use the memory manager to delete emails, text and temp files when you notice memory is getting full.
