The Motorola Q9 series of cellular telephones do not naively support any 802.11 protocol. However, if the Spectec SDW-823 microSDIO card is ever released, it will.

Default Uconnect

The Chrysler web site showed all "Q" phones compatible EXCEPT it didn't show the 9h....I haven't tried it yet, but thought I'd check this site before doing so as I've gotten such great help from here previously.

Thanks,

Thanks,
The Q, Q9c, Q9m all use minSD cards, which the Spectec SDW-822, (available now), would provide the capabilities for 802.11 networking. However, the Moto Q9h uses microSD cards; hence the need for the Spectec SDW-823, which is still not RTM. (I'm beginning to doubt it ever will be).

I'm afraid all of that is a bit "over my head". I have been disappointed a bit in some of the limitations the 9h seems to have. Kind of sucks to have the capability on the car and not have it compatible with a relatively expensive high tech phone!

Informative

I think there is some confusion here. The original poster is asking if the Q9h is compatible with the UConnect system on Chrysler automobiles, not some 802.11 networking card.

The UConnect system is basically a bluetooth speaker phone and I can say that it works fine with the Q9h. We have 4 or 5 different Motorola phones all paired with the UConnect and the Q9h works flawlessly.

You are correct. After trying several things with no success I went to my local AT&T office to see if I could trade out phones are something.... Shorten story, one of the salesmen came to my car, ran thru a series of the connection commands and IT WORKS. I'm not exactly sure what he did differently than I had done, but at this time I'm not complaining just glad it works. Thanks for noticing the confusion....

I am glad you got it working. I've had no problems with the Q9h and the UConnect system. I've tried several different phones and the only one I've had any problems with is the wife's Motorola Razr2.

I thought she was talking about this: Chrysler's UConnect Turns Car into Wi-Fi Hotspot

Yes, the MotoQ9h will work with bluetooth "hands-free phone" devices. I guess I should have asked about what specific feature of UConnect she was talking about. (I'll bet you guys were wondering what I was smoking when there was that communication gap.)

Hey, I just appreciate the feedback and effort...seriously. I say, frequently, "I don't care to know how or why a computer or tech gadget does what it does. I just want to know which button to push to do what I want." So, many explanations are, to say the least, over my head.
I really do thank you for trying.....
