AT&T Q9 - Release Date?

Its sad an pathetic that US carriers just can't get their stuff together, none of them. I will be on vacation next week and maybe the phone will hit while I am gone and maybe not.

Sad this is the store I called just a day or so ago today I got another rep (clueless fella) he had no idea, couldn't say for sure and he had to ask someone about it (what does that say).

What really burns me even more is AT&T will ship limited inventory of the higher end phones to the stores and wait the web sales to roll in (annoying isn't it). Ship and stock it and they will sell.

So if anyone has any super duper good info like CEO AT&T chatter please post it. I will be out of the loop pretty much all of next week.

If you're on vacation next week, my money is on the Q9h finally hitting shelves. Sorry, couldn't resist.

If this presentation is to be believed, the Palm Treo 750 is finally getting it's WM6 upgrade. I thought I remember hearing some rumor about how AT&T wanting to wait for the release of their new devices, etc before releasing the update. Some sort of united WM 6 push. Could it be a harbinger of good things to come? Maybe.

I'll be honest. I have absolutely no idea when it's coming. I wish I had some intel, but sadly I do not.

Thanks and yeah I figured it would come out while I am gone. But at least I pre-ordered my Leopard upgrade for delivery on 10/26 still thought I certainly hope it is while I'm gone so I can add that to my weekend.

Funny how the differences in responses here vs say HoFo. I had a smartazz comment about AT&T has the most stringent QC and they have some special plan we don't need to know about etc, blah, blah. You know thats BS, they just announced the new crackberry phone and voila its up on the site while we wait with the coming soon line.

I might have to hold off on Leopard. My original plan was to upgrade my desktop to a Mac Pro, but I believe they are getting ready to upgrade that line. It's going to be tough not to upgrade. I'm scouring the rumor sites for any buzz on Mac Pro's.

Seeing the front page - I couldn't help but feel caustic ... maybe all of you guys are better off waiting for the touchscreen Q from Moto.

Says 2008 - not that far off, considering the Q9 was on line for release from July 2007, and still not out.

While I really wanted to wait for the Q9 too, now I am glad I just got out of the fcking waiting game and took whatever I got.

I will get the Q9h if it actually ever gets released this year. As for waiting another 6-12 months for Moto to actually get this out the door and ATT to release it, no thanks I'd rather not hold my breath. Besides the Blackjack PPC version will be out soon enough if someone wants to jump onto that form factor.

ok i have a source at corprate ATT that i completely forgot about! and they said it was delayed a week and is going to be out oct 29th! wooo hoooo i so hope there is no more delays! i had just seen this morning on engadget that it was suppost to be out oct 22nd. and then i got the call and they said it was delayed a week. and a week exactly is the 29th and that is what they told me! so if everything falls into place we should be good!

I spoke with my AT&T rep yesterday and he has received confirmation of a November 2, 2007 release date on his AT&T corporate email for sales staff. The stores have received promotional literature and pricing info. He also indicated that At&T typically ships a few days earlier. If you have a good relationship with your rep, he/she will set one aside for you if you ask.

I have been eyeing the Qq9/Q9h/Q Global for a while now. When/if it is ever released it will be my first smart phone. I will be moving cross country to San Diego in about 3 weeks and the integrated GPS would be great for navigating around an unfamiliar city (and around wildfires) while I am house hunting. My question is if it is released in the next week or so is there any lag (if so how much) before it is available on-line? I would love to get my hands on it before I hit the road but would also like my on-line discounts if possible.

Just thought I'd let everyone know, I spoke with my AT&T buddy today and he was talking on his new Moto Q Global phone that he recieved this week. So the devices are in the hands of the sales reps and release should be very soon. One thing he said of particular not was that he used the phone all day and still had 50% battery charge with the high cap battery (and this guy talks on his phone ALL day, literally).

I will endevor to get him to try out a microSD WiFi card, or I will myself as soon as I have one in my hands. I can't wait to get rid of this Blackjack.
