    Q9c won't start - completely dead?

I've had my Q for 16 months and it's never had a problem. This morning when I woke up the phone, which I had left on, was off and would not turn on. I did a quick search and found that this is commonly due to a bad battery.

However, after plugging it in for an hour the phone still does absolutely nothing and will not even try to start up.

If my phone dead or could a new battery possibly fix it?

i would try sticking a new battery in there
typical lifespan of a battery is 12 months before it starts losing juice

    cant hurt

if it drains past a certain point the Q can't charge it. An external charger is needed. In you case it may be best to get a new battery given it's age.

I am having the same problem. My phone died this evening. Thought the battery was just dead but when I tried my spare battery that was charged on an external charger, I still got nothing. I plan on taking mine to US Cellular tomorrow and see what they think, whether it is dead or not. I at least has insurance, whether that means anything since the Q9C is no longer being made.

My Q9c on USCC got screen problems a couple months ago and needed to be replaced. The store told me to call 611. A new phone was mailed to me with instructions to mail the broken phone back. I had to do the battery and contacts swap myself. Wah! Much easier than driving 30 miles and teaching the rep how to do it.
