Organizing the Forums at eWM

Going with loyal. Think I got an Eris for $9.99 from Amazon. It will be interesting to get off dialup speed. I know I'm just a youngster here but hope to contribute more when I have real service.

Well we'll see. Oprah 8.65 lets me switch between desktop and mobile. Does Android give me that choice? Sherri survived the switch so I think I can although I am going with the Eris. My Q keyboard is very familiar. Sherri found the on screen keyboard to be useable to her surprise so I went with the Eris. Now I have to port my phone number.

This is not off topic because forum organization can help people deal with switching phones. Rudeboy threw everything together. If he had more traffic it would be a mess.

I want to be able to choose which Everything forums show up on my New Posts.

For existing members, will profile information transfer seamlessly between the two sites? Stuff like avatar, signature, post count, poster level, details, etc.

Vaz, I am assuming so, because my info is the same on EverythingAndroid as it is here (post count/Thanks/avatar/etc...)...

For all members that were signed onto EWM prior to this recent "separation", all of their info carried over to EA. (rb probably never signed into EA, but he is a member w/over 28,000 posts...)

For NEW members, signing up today, if they sign up for EWM, they will only be a member of EWM, and post count/avatars/info will not carry over to EA. (Is that correct, Chris?)

Kind of makes the most sense, as if you are buying a new WM Phone, you will search here, and vice versa with Android...(I am a member of EIC as well, but I think I have posted under 20 times, when I needed help with Bari's iPod...)

Well now...this is an interesting new skin on the site. I don't have a whole lot of time to keep up to date, but I keep thinking the site is dead because nothing ever changes on the home page. Then I remember to check the forums and there is still life here. <G>

Tried to follow this thread but quickly got confused as to what you are actually planning to do. Went to the smartphone site listed earlier where posts seemed to indicate there was a cross dB of users, but couldn't get signed in, so don't know what's up there. It appears they don't have a single post relating to Samsung phones anyhow and only have a forum listing for the Jack.

I'll stick here, assuming I remember to check the forums and not look for actual news <G>. Where is a good place for smartphone news anyhow. The engadget feed is kewl, but sheesh...talk about apple lovers...<G>

Bob, I'm hoping to start updating the news on a regular basis now. I think Windows Mobile 7 will usher in the next generation of WinMo and the rebirth of the site in many ways.

BTW, I've finished reorganizing the forums. I tried subforums based upon Smartphones > Manufacturer > Motorola > Q9h, Q9n, etc.

It just didn't look right, so I've simply cleaned up the existing categories we have. I've also moved Motorola Q specific software discussions under the Motorola forum group.

I reviewed current shipping WinMo phones and added the Samsung Epix. If I'm missing any, please let me know.

Finally, Windows Mobile categories have been bumped up and I've added Windows Marketplace for Mobile for discussions related to Microsoft's App Store.

I hope the changes are positive ones.
