    Inventory scanner gun for Q9c

This is my first post.. but am I missing where there is a business topic area? If there isnt one, there should be..

Anyway, has anyone ever seen a scanner gun used with a Q? And if so, I assume there is an adapter to create a regular female USB connection for the phone for USB peripheral devices..That being said, theoretically, would a plug and play USB barcode scanner that works immediately on a PC work in on my q9c within mobile excel?

    Thanks.

I'm not sure about usng an external device for scanning barcodes; however, I do recall hearing about an app that will use the camera to read barcodes. Not sure if it would work, but might be worth asking Google about.

Yea, ive read they are not always effective or accurate. I would need flawless scanning to process things quickly. Using a phone would be sooooo nice not to have to lug around a laptop though.. oh well.

Maybe even better than USB, http://www.serialio.com has a bluetooth barcode scanner that they claim works with the smartphone. Didn't read the entire page, but I think it will do what you want.

    Hope this helps.

That has to be the single coolest application/gadget combo for the smartphone ever! Makes doing inventory sooooo much faster. I'm definitely getting one of those.

kinda sad how since sprint took over nextel they have gotten rid of the ''business hardware''....remember the credit card reader and barcode scanner nextel had that pluged into the bottom of the phone?...i know there were others but i cant think of them off hand

on a side note its also kinda stupid that sprint is the main sponsor or nascar and so many of their phones cant get nascar content...i mean damm i downloaded trackpass on my old cricket phone from brew
