yeah...true.
ever since i migrated (october 20th) from qwest (sprint towers) to verizon..i lost voice bars to the extent of dropped calls at home. evdo is on the edge of crap! lol.. ive had a ticket in for crummy signal in a major city for four weeks..on all 5 phones on my account. just got told today that my area was deemed "marginal" and that i could walk away with no early ending contract fees. i said...on all 5 phones? you would let me walk? yes sir...wth? thats it?
i then asked if i could trade my phone (9c..only phone with data on account) in for one with wifi (saga) and id stay with verizon. she says...sure...you can have the saga for $495 and stay! wth? does verizon have enough customers already? haha....so i guess i could cut loose and then resign a contract and get it for $149?
dunno...my account has been marked as i can walk so maybe a call or two more to retentions can get me a wifi capable phone. and id like to stay with vzw as i get 20% off each service coming from qwest....
Yeah, don't put your hope in a phone with a new OS that's 6 months out maybe.
I didn't say that MS stopped Smartphone development, but without the Q line, are there any companies coming out with WinMo Smartphone devices in the forseeable future?
The Pre looks interesting to me b/c I don't like WinMo Pro and those are the only devices that are upcoming from manufacturers.
Edited to add: And the Shadow and S743 don't count because those are GSM and the OP is on Sprint. :-)

Perhaps I've misunderstood, but I really don't understand your logic/post. You ask if there are any companies coming out with WinMo devices, then say that there are and that you don't like it. Rather than try to figure that out, I'll simply provide the following:
There are lots of WinMo phones coming out, now and in the future.

In fact, MS just announced that they'd like a reduction in the number of phones coming out with WinMo to achieve better tailoring of the OS to the devices.

Perhaps you were making a distinction between a touchscreen and non-touchscreen version? If so, market sentiment seems to have determined that touchscreens are hot.
Meanwhile, Motorola comes out with crap like this:

EQBob
Thanks. I was looking for this thread on my desktop.
I got the email notification on my phone and deleted it O:
WM is not dead as mentioned. The standard version might be dying for the reasons EQbob just said but Pro is alive and well.
My comment was you don't like Pro but your ready to jump to an unproven OS?
Okay, just step back for a second here people...I just gave the OP a suggestion for a phone with the upgrade that she will be getting later this year, which also happens to be around the time that the Pre will possibly be released.
I did NOT ask for suggestions for a new phone, nor do I like WM Pro (despite what "the market" thinks - and I had an Omnia and got rid of it). I also NEVER said WinMo was dead, just that no companies are coming out with compelling CDMA WM "Standard" phones.
Just reread my previous post, my first question was redundant...and I replaced "Smartphone" with "Standard" in my head, now I understand the confusion. :-)
