    Insurance Replacement

I have the original Q with Alltel, went into the store today and was told that the current replacement for the original Q would be the Q9c for insurance replacement. Can anyone confirm this who works for Alltel?
    TIA

If you can say you have never been given mis-information by someone at the store, then you in your mind are correct. I was also told since I have insurance on my phone I can't buy a refurb from the store because the refurbs are only for the uninsured among us. Is this information also correct or since I just went to the store it is gospel. So I shouldn't confirm the information anywhere, I thought the forums were where you came to get additional information and your questions answered and/or confirmed. This is the reason I don't post more often.

Since the store doesn't handle the replacement for the insurance company, call the insurance company and ask them. They will tell you exactly what will ship.

I just called Alltel for you and yes.
If you are insured then you will get a Q9C as a replacement.
That is if the CSR knew what he was talking about. I have never gotten 2 straight answers from anyone at Alltel, ever.
(Ever get that rude guy Hank, yet? Why he's working there I don't know)
The regular Q's are no longer on their web site so I'm kind-of hoping that they run out of refurb's too.
    Good luck.

My local Alltel store replaced my Q with the Q9c about 2 week ago...I was having problems with my Q so I called the insurance folks and advised them that the Alltel store said it needed to be replaced and they gave me the authorization number and I walked out with a new Q9c....It only cost me $50 because of the type of ins I had...

I did have problems getting the MMS function working, but everything is working now...and I believe I got a deal...

I am now on my 3rd original Q. My wife on her 4th. Now we have had alltel for over 8 years and have had insurance the entire time on whatever phones we have ever had. I just noticed on our last bill that the insurance was missing. Going further back it was taken off for some reason months ago. Is this why we continue to get the refurb q's? The things that can be customized on these phones are great, but we have had a lot of problems with ours since day 1.
