    Alltel force update help needed.

Before I get hammered with a thousand use the search feature replies............ Let it be known I have searched and tried umpteen diff ways posted here. Maybe it is error on my part, I do not know. I am not the most tech savy, but can do most things with instructions. Anyway I was told that a divested store(200 miles away) could force the current updates for south NJ into my phone(Q9C)since *228 does not work. I have seen a few diff people admit they work for Altell and am asking for their help, or help from anyone who knows how to do this. I am only getting 2 bars max and 1x if I am lucky. I really need this phone to work better so I can get my missions done. Thanks in advance.

generally if they recommend to physically go to a store it would mean that they need to actually hook the phone up to something to get it done.
    I'm just sayin'

Do you never see [EV] on your phone? Strange to me since I get tons of everything in Cape May . . . I'm thinkin' that you should go with what they tell you, 'til they show you otherwise. Good luck with it, man! I'm on VZW BUT they are sharing a lot of resources more and more now and although you Q will only do EVDO v. 0, you should be getting better service in S. Jersey. -Q

Yes I get it........ when I am home with a broadband connection aval and when I am in NC sometimes. it depends if I am in a divested area. If I am I get it, if I am out of the divested Alltel area I get 1x max, and the rest of my issues. Heck I am almost constantly roaming now(at least I am not paying yet cause these areas were not roaming before) I know this phone will do broadband speed, before the split it worked great. Anyway thanks for the replies. Any chance of a local Verizon/Alltel employee taking pity on me and ignoring policy and helping a divested bastard out. Instead of the company line of sorry for your inssue but you are part of the divested group let me transfer you and have a nice day.

did some quick research and it doesn't look like there is much that they could do without being in violation of the merger agreement.
